Introduction

Hello my name is Andrea Ferster, account rep with Ferster’s Prime Time Fruit Fundraising. We offer two fundraisers: fall (fresh BC Okanagan apples) and winter (citrus: navel oranges and pink grapefruit) for fundraising to schools and clubs.

Established 1972 in Kelowna, BC Ferster’s is a family-owned business, transporting and marketing fresh fruit for over 40 years into the prairies. In 1995, the family and the primary company operations moved to Saskatoon, central to our market area. Ferster’s has a direct working relationship with our BC growers, which allows us to obtain and provide the freshest and best quality fruit to schools and clubs for their customers.

Fall: September/October we offer a fresh BC Apple Fundraiser with six varieties of unwaxed Okanagan Valley apples. The apples are picked at “prime time” thus giving you the best quality and taste.

Winter: February/March we offer a citrus fundraiser of navel oranges and pink grapefruit. These too are picked at “prime time” giving you sweet juicy citrus right off the tree!

Our company understands that groups have a wide variety of opportunities to raise funds and that potential donors often grow fatigued of fundraising. We like to think we stand out from the crowd for several reasons.

First our product is fresh and healthy! The BC apples and winter citrus are tree ripened so they have the best flavour and maximum amount of vitamins and nutrients for your family to benefit from and enjoy. Our product never sits in storage; it is picked off the tree, packed and shipped to you with the best freshness.

Past experience has shown that our fundraisers are also very growable. The number of orders tends to increase one year to the next as people become familiar with the quality of fruit they are being offered.

In the end a fundraiser has to be profitable to be effective and we offer that as well. Your group will make a profit of $15/box on fresh BC apples and a profit of $12/box on the citrus: navel oranges and pink grapefruit
